What makes same the same?

Jay Krieger presents an entertaining and thought-provoking paradox on how we define the same the same. What makes things the same? Jay describes a few examples and closes with several possible methods of how we might determine how things are the same. Enjoy!

Note: Jay used several sources including Wikipedia to put together some of the examples.

Heeeeyy Jay!!!

Welcome b -- *you disappear again*

Aw. *cancels the party*

;)

Love this type of thinking...

It's how others perceive that define what things "really" are.

Emotions or ideology...sometimes both. :)

A twist to this: our cells turn over at such a rate that every seven years we have all new cells. Are we the same? Is that the cause of the "seven year itch?"

Welcome back. You have a niche in the vlogosphere that no one else fills.

Is it relating to the soul or spirit, usually in contrast to material things? Spiritual? Good subject you brought up.

Before viewing your vlog, I just had a thought about my first radio controlled car this morning. Mom bought it from another country so it was really special for any kids in underdeveloping countries (I'm not in the United States). During thinking moment, I just wish to keep it despite it's broken. If I ever found the same design, brand, model today. I would buy it and treasure it forever, and would say it's still "THE SAME" first r/c car for me. It's not about body parts, electronic parts - it's all about power of essence.

Know what JAY stands for?
J = Just
A = Attempting-to-make
Y = You-think-about

He really got us thinking more about his challenge thoughts.

Just like the word "IF", does anyone know what it really stands for? Another brain twister!

Jay = Narcissistic

He tries to be a philosopher when he is not.

It is like asking a person how one knows if red is really red...or if blue is blue.

Too many anonymous comments, too.

hi, Jay,

that is interesting information about the parts replacing the defective parts while the whole thing remains the same. What does it call? Dunno, but things that has been taken care are greately increased in value. I guess this is one way to interpret, smile.

Dear Susan -

nar•cis•sism
1. inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity.
2. Psychoanalysis. erotic gratification derived from admiration of one's own physical or mental attributes, being a normal condition at the infantile level of personality development.

Do you see Jay kissing himself on the web? All I see is a friendly and humble man who enjoys sharing his thoughts.

Watch the video again – he said he enjoys making people think and loves philosophies.

As you may notice, people do enjoy that.

As for anonymous comments – that’s because they are welcome and respected equally as the named ones.

Jay does not care if you post anonymous or not, it doesn’t bother him. Look over here where he discussed about that - Anonymous can be great!

Hey, Belle - that is a good twist!!

My tongue gets new cells for new tastes every 7 years... same tongue?? Hmm.
